What I liked most was that it wasn’t just nonstop action — it had real emotional depth. Sander is a flawed, believable hero, and the world around him felt epic without being overwhelming. Definitely worth the read if you’re into fantasy with substance.
If you love rich fantasy worlds and character-driven stories, this is for you. The pacing is great, and the twists felt earned. It reminded me of why I fell in love with fantasy in the first place.
