Now a grandfather of three, he brings warmth and family wisdom to every page.
A heartfelt Christmas novella that’s perfect if you don’t have a lot of reading time but still want something meaningful. I enjoyed the emotional revelations and the nostalgic feeling of holiday traditions. A little more character depth would have made it a 5 for me, but still a strong read.
This story touched my heart. Sugar’s journey back home and the discovery of a long-kept family secret felt very real and relatable. It reminded me of coming home to my parents’ house during the holidays. Sometimes the simplest stories are the most powerful, and this one truly is.
I liked the message about family bonds and hidden histories, but for me, the pacing felt a little rushed. The quilt was a beautiful metaphor, though I wanted more detail about its history. Still, it’s a meaningful read, just not as impactful as I hoped.
